The Signature Pros is seeking commissioned notaries to serve as paid witnesses for document signings. This form is to collect your availability, preferences, and qualifications for paid assignments.
💵 Compensation
💰 Pay: Starts at $35 per completed in-person appointment
💰 Pay: Starts at $25 per completed remote online appointment
🕒 All payments will be issued by business check on the same day the in-person witness services are rendered. For remote online witness services, you will be mailed a business check via USPS within (2) days of the completed transaction to the mailing address provided.

📝 Note: Most of our customers are located within a 10 to 15-mile radius of this address. However, there may be times when assignments fall outside of this range.
🔎 Witness Role Description
A witness is a neutral party who observes a signer execute a document and then signs their name as a witness to the event. You are not notarizing the document in this role.
As a witness, you:
Must be physically present to observe the signer.
Must not be related to the signer or a party to the document
Will sign your name on the document as a witness in-person or electronically
May be asked to take an oath affirming your impartiality and presence
Must not give legal advice or assist in completing the document
Must be able to present ID if required by the facility
Must arrive promptly and maintain professionalism throughout the appointment
⚠️ Important Requirements
You must be a currently commissioned notary
The Signature Pros will verify your commission using the official state portal (e.g., OneStop Maryland)
You are not performing a notarial act unless separately contracted to do so
You are acting as an independent contractor, not an employee
Travel beyond a reasonable radius may require pre-approval or separate agreement
Assignments may occur at hospitals, rehab centers, detention facilities, or private residences
Some assignments may require a Confidentiality or Non-Disclosure Agreement
Please note: you will only receive a Form 1099-NEC from us if your total payouts for the year meet or exceed the IRS minimum reporting threshold. If your total payments are below that threshold, you will not receive a 1099, but you are still required to report your income when filing your taxes.
